# Registering rich metadata for books, chapters, reports, dissertations, and updates just got easier - Crossref

You can now register rich metadata for a variety of record types in [Metadata Manager](https://www.crossref.org/documentation/register-maintain-records/metadata-manager/) using simple, guided workflows. The tool is used by many in our community to register [grant](https://www.crossref.org/documentation/research-nexus/grants/) and [journal article](https://www.crossref.org/documentation/principles-practices/journals/) records, and it has now been expanded to support books and chapters, reports, dissertations, and [post-publication updates for journal content](https://community.crossref.org/t/ticket-of-the-month-june-2026-post-publication-updates-in-metadata-manager/16253).
