Crossref has grown beyond its original projected scope. In order to meet new needs quickly, we’ve taken deliberate decisions that we knew we’d need to come back to: addressing technical debt while gathering input and priorities and making plans. We know some of our twenty-year-old infrastructure has been under pressure—and you’ve noticed too. Now is the time to refactor our systems so we are able to accelerate.
We’d like to share those plans with everyone as we begin to make changes.
Our product, technical and community staff will walk through what we’ve got planned for the coming months and years for Event Data, Similarity Check, Content Registration and related tools, new constituencies, and metadata schemas–tying our roadmap to an updated strategic agenda.
