Update on iThenticate AI add-on?

Hi!

I see in the iThenticate Upgrade FAQs that Crossref is not currently offering the iThenticate AI add-on to Crossref members as part of the Similarity Check service. Do you have any estimate of when the add-on may be offered?

Thank you for your message.

If you are a Crossref member and already subscribing to the Similarity Check service, you can now work with Turnitin (the company that owns and operates the iThenticate software) directly to add their AI Detection Tool to your iThenticate 2.0 account. The AI Detection Tool add-on is only available to those on an iThenticate 2.0 account. This add-on is completely optional and not a requirement of the Similarity Check service.

If you have any questions about the AI Detection Tool add-on or you wish to add it to your account, you’ll need to reach out directly to Turnitin at icarroll@turnitin.com. This add-on will require an additional cost, which will be set up directly between you and Turnitin.

Please note: While questions about the Similarity Check service can still come to Crossref’s Support, all questions regarding the AI Detection Tool will need to go directly to Turnitin. If you’re still using v1, please reach out to Crossref’s Support to upgrade.
