PID strategies are being written around the world right now, and the decisions being made will shape the scholarly record for decades. After 25 years running open scholarly infrastructure—now on behalf of 25,000 members in 167 countries—Crossref has an informed perspective on what those decisions should ideally rest on. Today we’re setting it out in our’s first position paper: Persistent identifiers in research infrastructure policy: the need for a holistic approach. Excellent position paper —both insightful and beautifully designed :clap:. I particularly liked the geometric pattern on the cover ; it reminded me of the traditional zellige of Fez, Morocco :morocco:. As someone from Morocco, I found that detail especially meaningful. Haha thank you Nadia! I think it’s actually from the Alcazar in Sevilla, but yes - tiles seem to express Crossref infrastructure well - detailed, painstaking work but also sometimes colourful and inspiring at scale?!

What will happen if AWS, Google Cloud and another cloud services could turn off at once? Where will it be? What about all-humanity? Do we have it written somewhere for next (if any) civilizations to find it? Just interesting for me
