Good evening!
Is registering a DOI for a journal issue (not an article) done the same way in Manager? Do I need to specify (where?) the DOI connection to the DOIs of articles already registered in that issue?

Issue-level DOIs are not supported by Metadata Manager.

Because issues (as a whole) are not cited, assigning DOIs to issues is not required, nor particularly useful. So, for the purposes of making the new Metadata Manager tool simpler and easier to use, we’ve omitted them.

I’d encourage you to just register DOIs for your journal articles, and no longer assign DOIs at the issue level going forward.

However, if you wish to continue registering DOIs for journal issues, you’ll need to use some other metadata submission method: the Web Deposit Form or direct submission of XML files.
