Hello
We are publishers of the following journal
INVISIBILIDADES Revista Ibero-Americana de Pesquisa em Educação, Cultura e Artes
Revista Invisibilidades – APECV
Till now we used to deposit the DOIs of the issues using the prefix: 10.24981/.
But now we have a new prefix , can we change the DOI of this journal and use our current prefix in the next issues ?
Member name: Association of Teachers of Visual Expression and Communication
DOI prefix: 10.64493
Hi @Teresa,
Welcome to the Community Forum! What you’re describing is a title transfer: the process of moving a journal (or other published material with a DOI assigned) from the ownership of one member to another. These transfers allow the receiving publisher (e.g., Association of Teachers of Visual Expression and Communication) to take control of any DOIs already registered by the transferring publisher (e.g., International Society For Education Through Art- InSEA). While ownership of the DOIs change, the DOIs themselves don’t. Once the transfer is complete, DOIs for newly published articles will be registered on the receiving publisher’s prefix, 10.64493.
To initiate a title transfer, please reach out to us at member@crossref.org. We will need to ensure that we have approval from the transferring publisher (InSEA) in order to proceed with the transfer.
After the transfer is completed, you will have the option to bulk-update the URLs for existing DOIs if articles are moving from the transferring publisher’s domain to your own.
My colleague @sallyjennings has some tips on title transfers here. If you have any other questions about title transfers, please let us know here.
