In this post, we bring you an update to the REST API filters you can use. As of August 3 2026, you will be able to use has-affiliation-ror-id and has-funder-ror-id to return only works with ROR IDs in the affiliation or funding metadata, respectively. The has-ror-id filter is not going away, and you can still use it to retrieve ROR IDs in any part of the record.
Additionally, in the /members endpoint you will find additional fields describing the metadata coverage separately for affiliation-ror-ids or funder-ror-ids.
Selected fields from a member’s record that include ROR:
ROR assigns persistent identifiers to organisations, including funders. ROR is a community-led non-profit organisation supported by several organisations, including Crossref. Our members can include ROR identifiers in several parts of the schema, including author affiliation and funding metadata.
If you have any questions or feedback you can reply to this post and let us know more about your experience or your specific use case
