Validation error states no doi was sent, but our logs show valid data was sent

Hi Crossref,

I received a notification stating that our XML deposit with batch_id “apsxref:068d3ef4-9ec0-4840-b763-cceadd916013” had an empty doi value. Our records show the doi associated with this batch_id is “10.1103/vq42-b9z2”

Can you confirm the XML sent was valid? I log what we sent and it included the doi value. I also verified that the generated XML passes your validation.

Are you receiving that error from doi.crossref.org after you submit the XML to us?

When I parse your XML I don’t receive any errors. I also took that one step further and submitted the XML to our test system - test.crossref.org and received a success message for the XML attached to this message:

<record_diagnostic status="Success">
      <doi>10.1103/vq42-b9z2</doi>
      <msg>Successfully added</msg>
      <citations_diagnostic>

If you are receiving an error from doi.crossref.org, do you happen to have the submission ID that is returning that error?

Ah. I think it was just unfortunate timing. This was submission straddled our maintenance release yesterday, so the error was definitely on our end. Sorry about that! That’s not typically an issue.
