Tracking DOI Visibility and Metrics for Research Data in Dataverse Platforms

Hi,

The institutional research data sharing platform at my university subscribed to crossref as doi provider. I have a question if the dois are indexed in other platforms e.g. clarivate and OpenAlex. Where do i get this information? Another question is, the research data sharing platform that we are using is using dataverse . How to install plugins that enable number of downloads/citations appear at the dataset entry. Does it involve any cost?

Regards,

Amirol

Thank you for reaching out.

Crossref provides DOI infrastructure and makes registered metadata available through our APIs. However, Crossref does not index journals in abstracting and indexing platforms such as Clarivate. For example, inclusion in Web of Science depends on Clarivate’s own evaluation and acceptance process for the journals or other content.

Regarding Dataverse, Crossref does support DOI registration for datasets. However, at this time, there is no Crossref-Dataverse integration developed or maintained as plugins. Therefore, DOI registration would need to be managed independently using Crossref’s tools and workflows. This includes DOI construction, XML metadata creation, and metadata submission to Crossref.
