DOI registration via Crossref XML plugin (OJS) not succesful, can't submit XML through the

I’ve tried to register content for on of our journals today via the OJS Crossref export plugin, but have run into a 401 error.

Registration was not successful! The DOI registration server returned an error: ’ (401 Unauthorized)'.

I’ve tried submitting the XML on the /…servlet/useragent administration platform, but I’ve run into another error message about “not being authorized to submit”.

I’ve tested re-depositing another journal’s DOI and it does not seem to be a member issue, but only an issue with this one prefix/user. This user has been depositing DOIs for years without a problem until now.

What could be causing the issue?

Thank you, Liza

Hi Liza,

Can you tell me the DOI prefix and account name for this user? I’ll be happy to take a look and see if there have been any recent changes.

Best,
Shayn

Hi Shayn,

Yes, of course, sorry for leaving that out.

Account name: diar
Prefix: 10.17204

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,
Liza

Thanks, Liza.

There does seem to be an issue with the way our system permissions for that prefix are configured, but I’m not entirely sure how it came about. Someone from our Membership team would be better poised to speak to that. I’m going to tag one of them in to have a closer look, and we’ll follow up soon.

Hi again, Liza.

It looks like this was just a result of a clerical error on our part, which we’ve now corrected. You should be able to register content for 10.17204 using that ‘diar’ account again now.

Apologies for the inconvenience!
