Error in journal indication

Good evening!
Tell me what to do - by mistake we registered the DOI of one of our publishing house’s journals in the field of another of our journals, which is close in subject matter. As a result, naturally, the DOI gives the correct link, but at the same time the CROSSREF catalog for this journal does not have a list of articles with DOI, since the conr are in the catalog of another journal? How to return them to their place?

Hello,

Many thanks for your post.

If you have entered any of the metadata against a DOI incorrectly then you can overwrite the current metadata by redepositing the metadata to us using the same method as before, making sure that the timestamp is increased if it is a manual XML deposit, and including the updates that are needed.

This will then be updated in the system and the correct metadata will show against the DOI when it has been re-indexed after a successful deposit.

If the DOI is against a different journal then after making the updates with a different journal in the metadata it will move to the other title record.

I hope this helps and if you have any further question or queries on this then please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Many thanks,
Paul

Good day
I started doing it - but it doesn’t work. When I re-fill the data in metadone manager and give the command: saft draft or ad to deposit, the program gives an error, indicating an already existing DOI. What should I do?

Hello @gorodetsky ,

What is the DOI in question? Or, an example of a DOI that needs to be updated? And, which journal (please provide the ISSN) does it need to be moved to? With that I can provide you with some step-by-step instructions.

Good afternoon! The listed DOIs are in the journal PROBLEMS OF BIOLOGICAL, MEDICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY. (The scientific-applied journal // ISSN 1560-9596 // eISSN 2587-7313 , 10.29296/25877313 ) . We need to transfer it to Vrach (The Doctor) (The scientific-applied journal // ISSN 0236-3054 // eISSN 2587-7305, 10.29296/25877305)

Hello @gorodetsky ,

Thanks for these details. Unfortunately, there is no way to move the journal articles between journals within the Metadata Manager interface. But, you can do this manually.

I have removed all of the journal articles from the incorrect record in Metadata Manager. I then updated the metadata records for each journal article, so the journal-level metadata was correct.

I then resubmitted this XML to our admin tool as a full metadata deposit.

It now will take 24 hours for the metadata update to be recognized by Metadata Manager. But, this time tomorrow you should be able to log into Metadata Manager, navigate to the Vrach journal, and then add the articles into the correct journal, like this (search by journal article title):

Please let me know if you have any additional questions,
Isaac
